PPA FC9 server review by user,
FC9 server including a FC8 LPSU and a FC9 server
------------------------------------------------------
Initial impressions:
Sound quality from the PPA server,
Roon and Chord Dave is PHENOMENAL.....
and i do NOT use that word lightly at all.
This is a whole other level of audiophile sound.
Paul was very right in what he said- the sound quality is so good that i see no need for hi-res files....redbook/cd quality is really good enough using this server.
No need for Roon or M-Scaler upscaling either,
absolutely not needed because i like the sound as it is- it is as good as it can get and does not need any upscaling....
Details, soundstage, transients, and low-level listening are all reference- quality,
comparable only with extremely expensive rigs that i saw/heard in treated showrooms at major professional Audio Shows....
and my apartment does not even have any room treatments!
I thought i had heard it all....but let me tell you,
as good as my system has always been,
this server has taken things to the next (ultimate) level.
I am sure that the fact that i am also using the PPA MK3/R power cords and the PPA ethernet switch is also helping.
But even at this early stage,
all i can say is THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Paul for revolutionalizing my audio system and experience,
and bringing it to the ultimate level!
And of course thank you Chris,
also, for your help in the ongoing setup process.
I look forward to hearing from you.
PS- my ultimate test whenever i add a new component to my system is to listen for 2+ hours and see if i have any fatigue....
and also whether i am still enjoying the music
(snapping my fingers, nodding my head, even dancing) after 2-3 hours.
Pauls server passed that test with FLYING COLORS today!
Now i have a better idea of what low/zero noise, ANALOG
audio sounds like!
I could feel it! |
